Bio:

Meara is a young druid, growing up in a deeply connected but spread-out colony of her kind in the Swampy Southeast, north of Maribor. Her mother is a human rogue, her father an elf Druid. Meara was raised with her father’s family in the colony, knowing her mother only through brief visits as a young girl before her mother died of a common ailment. Though Meara knew her mother only briefly, her death had a profound impact, causing Meara to dedicate much of her learning to healing, and the power of herbs.

Though Meara is part of a large and relatively stoic colony of Druids who take little part in the affairs of the political realm, Meara hungers for knowledge of places, and particularly plants, beyond the borders of her home. She is well-versed in survival, spending many days and nights exploring each inch of the groves, woods and swamps, and trekking throughout the colony with her owl companion, Arrna. For a Druid, Meara is impulsive, impatient, and struggles to master her emotions when perturbed, traits that distress her father.

Rumors of a horror know as the Hounds of Hölle reached the colony and spread quickly. While many in the colony dismissed the rumors as nothing more than the idle gossip of easily frightened and superstitious villagers, Meara saw in these rumors the chance to seek knowledge- both the knowledge to improve her skills with healing, as well as the knowledge of how to protect her family in the event these beasts of legend were real and could spread southward.

Gaining permission from the colony elders and her father, Meara set out under the guise of gathering herbs to replenish her healing kits. Instead she headed northwest to the capital, hoping there to find the information she sought, reasoning, if tenuously, that gathering herbs would be part of the plan after all…
